Synthetic fibre pillows
Synthetic fibre pillows, practical, washable and available with different levels of softness and support
Guide to choosing a fibre pillow
DaunenStep fibre pillows include solutions with different fillings and constructions, designed to provide softness, practicality and different levels of support. From the soft down-like feel of PrimaLoft® Bio™ to anatomical or highly washable solutions, each model meets different sleeping needs.
Quick answer
How do you choose a fibre pillow?
The choice mainly depends on the desired comfort feel, the construction and care requirements. A soft fibre pillow can provide a plush and enveloping feel, while models with an anatomical structure or internal core offer more defined support. Washability can also be an important factor when choosing a pillow.
Why choose a synthetic fibre pillow?
Synthetic fibre pillows are appreciated above all for their practicality and ease of care. Different fibre types and constructions can also provide very different comfort sensations, from soft and lightweight models to more structured solutions.
The DaunenStep range includes pillows filled with PrimaLoft® Bio™, microfibre models, a flame-retardant solution, a hybrid pillow combining down and fibre, and an anatomical model designed to provide more defined support.
PrimaLoft® Bio™ in DaunenStep pillows
PrimaLoft® Bio™ is a synthetic polyester fibre used in several DaunenStep models. In Airella, it is used in the form of soft down-like fibre clusters, while in Duetto it forms the internal core and in Fisio it is used in the two outer chambers.
The same fibre can therefore create different comfort sensations depending on the pillow’s construction: softer and more uniform in Airella, combined with down in Duetto, or paired with an anatomical structure in the Fisio model.
Quick comparison
Which DaunenStep fibre pillow should you choose?
The models in the range differ mainly in filling, construction, comfort feel and washability. The table allows you to compare their main features at a glance.
Softness or support: which should you choose?
Those looking for a soft and uniform synthetic pillow can choose Airella, filled with down-like PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibre clusters. Those who prefer a more defined construction can consider Fisio, where the fibre filling is combined with an anatomical internal shape.
Duetto represents an intermediate hybrid solution: the outer chamber in pure down provides a softer feel on contact, while the PrimaLoft® Bio™ core contributes to the pillow’s internal structure.
A synthetic pillow with a down-like feel
Airella is designed for those who want the practicality of synthetic fibre without giving up a soft feel. The filling consists of PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibre clusters with a down-like effect, designed to create a lightweight, soft and breathable pillow.
When washability is the priority
If ease of washing is one of the main selection criteria, Sterilsan stands out within the range. Its 100% hypoallergenic microfibre filling can be washed at up to 95°C, always following the instructions on the product label.
How do you wash a fibre pillow?
The washing temperature depends on the model and its construction. Airella, Airella Ignifugo and Duetto are indicated as washable up to 40°C, while Sterilsan can be washed up to 95°C. It is therefore important to always check the specific instructions on the label of each pillow.
After washing, the pillow should be dried thoroughly before being used again or stored.

Frequently asked questions
Fibre pillow FAQ
What are the advantages of a synthetic fibre pillow?
Synthetic fibre pillows are practical and available with very different characteristics depending on the filling and construction. They can provide softness, lightness, ease of care or more structured support, depending on the model selected.
What is the difference between a fibre pillow and a down pillow?
The main difference is the filling. Down pillows use natural down and/or feathers, while fibre pillows use synthetic materials such as polyester, microfibre or PrimaLoft® Bio™. Feel, support and care requirements still depend on the specific construction of each model.
Which DaunenStep fibre pillow should I choose if I want softness?
Airella is the model in the range designed to provide a particularly soft feel thanks to its down-like PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibre clusters.
Which DaunenStep pillow can be washed at a high temperature?
Sterilsan can be washed at up to 95°C and is the model in this category most oriented towards high washability.
What is the Duetto pillow?
Duetto is a hybrid pillow with an outer chamber filled with 100% down and an internal core made of 100% PrimaLoft® Bio™. It therefore combines different materials and constructions in a single pillow.
What is the difference between Airella and Fisio?
Airella is a soft pillow filled with down-like PrimaLoft® Bio™ fibre clusters. Fisio instead uses a shape-retaining anatomical inner structure combined with two outer PrimaLoft® Bio™ chambers, providing more structured support.
